چکیده
We study theoretically the large variations of supercurrent through a normal dot that are induced by small quasiparticle injection current from leads connected to dot. find decomposes into subgap contribution, which depends on voltages applied leads, as well contribution with opposite sign energies outside gap, is insensitive voltages. متن کاملEffect of current injection into thin-film Josephson junctions
New thin-film Josephson junctions have recently been tested in which the current injected into one of the junction banks governs Josephson phenomena. One thus can continuously manage the phase distribution at the junction by changing the injected current. A method of calculating the distribution of injected currents is proposed for a half-infinite thin-film strip with source-sink points at arbi...
متن کاملQuasiparticle Energy Spectrum and Josephson Current in Superconducting SNINS Junctions
Through the solution of the Bogoliubov de Gennes equations we analyze the effect of different symmetries of the pair potential on the quasiparticle energy spectrum in SNINS junctions (S: superconductor, N: normal metal and I: Insulator). We find that the energy levels are strongly affected by the symmetry of the pair potential, the width of each normal metal (a and b) and the strength of the in...
متن کاملJosephson Effect in SFXSF Junctions
We investigate the Josephson effect in SFXSF junctions, where SF is a superconducting material with a ferromagnetic exchange field, and X is a weak link. The critical current Ic increases with the (antiparallel) exchange fields, if the distribution of transmission eigenvalues of the X layer has its maximum weight at small values. This exchange-field enhancement of the supercurrent does not exis...
متن کاملEquilibrium properties of double-screened dipole-barrier SINIS Josephson junctions
We report on a self-consistent microscopic study of the dc Josephson effect in SINIS junctions, where screened dipole layers at the SN interfaces generate a double-barrier multilayered SIN structure. Our approach starts from a microscopic Hamiltonian defined on a simple cubic lattice, with an attractive Hubbard term accounting for the short coherence length superconducting order in the semi-inf...
